History

SANGEA is produced by the American Petroleum Industry (API). API was formed in 1919 as a standards-setting organization. Its mission is to promote safety and sustainability across the oil & gas industry globally. SANGEA was redesigned since 2012 by Trinity Consultants/Digital Solutions to the current SANGEA 5 software.

Functions

The API SANGEA 5 software is a calculation tool used to estimate, manage and report GHG emissions, energy consumption and criteria pollutant emissions. It is predominantly used in the Oil and Gas Industry.

Its functionalities include:

• Applies API Compendium 2021 for GHG emission calculations
• Complies with regulatory reporting requirements in accordance with the U.S. EPA Mandatory Reporting Rule (MRR)
• Saves source parameters and data reliably
• Calculates both GHG and criteria pollutant emissions using standard emission factors and equations
• Calculates energy consumption and normalizes emissions
• Reports GHG emissions to comply with set regulatory requirements
